The goal is a network that works throughout the property and is straightforward to look after. Every recommendation should have a reason, and every approved change should leave a record.

Map floors, timber walls, separate buildings, decks and hot-tub areas. Learn where guests gather, what staff need remotely and which systems matter most during a stay.
Trace what is already connected
Review the ISP connection, cabling, power, network layout and device inventory. Measure where coverage and capacity fall short, rather than relying on a speed test beside the router.
Design the paths traffic will take
Choose access-point locations and how they connect back to the network. Use wired backhaul where practical, and account for the tradeoffs where wireless links are needed.
Give each system the access it needs
Separate guest, management and connected-property devices appropriately. Configure access rules and test the communication that TVs, controllers and other approved services rely on.
Implement, test and document
Agree the scope, then install or configure the approved changes. Check the areas and devices that matter, record the setup and save configuration backups where supported.
Make ongoing care explicit
Agree centralized management, available health alerts, remote diagnostics and support responsibilities. Your team gets a clear handoff and knows what still requires an on-site visit.
A faster internet plan

Coverage is a design problem, not a volume control.
A signal can have to cross thick timber, several walls and multiple floors. Wi-Fi is a two-way connection: increasing the access point’s power doesn’t give a guest’s phone a stronger radio. Deliberate placement and measurements help establish usable coverage in the rooms and outdoor areas that need it.
How access points connect matters too.
Backhaul is the connection from an access point back into the network. Wireless mesh uses radio airtime to carry that traffic. When backhaul and guest devices share a channel, they compete for that airtime; additional wireless hops can reduce available throughput and add latency and variability.
The impact depends on the radios, channels, signal quality and load. There is no single percentage that describes every mesh system. We favor wired links where practical and design wireless links deliberately where cabling is unsuitable.
Separate networks still need thoughtful rules.
A VLAN groups devices into a logical network. Access rules determine what can cross between groups. We consider guest use, property devices and management needs together, then test required functions such as approved TV casting. Separation should protect the property without needlessly breaking its amenities.
Remote visibility makes the next step clearer.
With supported equipment and agreed access, centralized management can expose device status and connection information. That helps distinguish a local coverage issue from a wider outage. It does not repair power loss, damaged cabling or every fault remotely.
